A Family Timer for the Xbox 360
The Rumored Xbox 360 Family Timer is confirmed and maybe released this December. The Xbox 360 Family Timer allows parents to take control of their kids’ game time. Good for us “older more responsible” gamers (hehehe!) as younger gamers will cut down on their gaming time to allow more productive things in their young lives such as doing chores, School and homework, socializing with their “peers”, and also to cut their selves from being an over-impulsive, anti-social, game-fueled, caffeine and junk food addicted person that I become. Ok, just kidding the timer helps parents monitor their child’s gaming time and allot hours and set the time alloted for them to play, thus teaching them the importance of time and responsibility.
Now is your family all set? Here’s Xbox.com Guide to Family Settings

This fall Microsoft, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Best Buy Co., Inc. will launch a campaign to inform parents about the Family Settings feature in the Xbox 360™ console and introduce other resources to help parents and caregivers protect their children. The name of the campaign is “Safety is no game. Is your family set?” in reference to the Xbox 360 Family Settings.
The campaign is designed to reach parents and caregivers and demonstrate Microsoft, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Best Buy’s commitment to child safety. The goal of the campaign is to provide parents with the information and tools they need to make appropriate content choices for their children for both offline enjoyment (with games and DVD’s) as well as on Xbox Live, the online gaming service.
