Fixed Xbox 360 still has RROD
Oh yeah, after finally getting back my Xbox 360 from the repairs, it took me about a month and a half of intense wait. I was really excited to play again but after 3 straight hours of playing. My Xbox 360 stopped again so I decided to reboot it but after a while astonishingly I got the “RROD” again. Oh man, why?? I don’t want to go through the process of getting my Xbox 360 repaired again. I getting pissed off so now I’m looking for other solutions besides sending it back to Microsoft for repairs.
Solutions for the RROD Fix that I’ve seen credible but haven’t tested yet and sure as hell I’m gonna try it. It’s better than nothing.
An Intro to why the 360 has RROD is that
It happens when a solder connection between the GPU (Graphic-Processing-Unit) and the Mainboard breaks or become loose.
Why does the solder connections breake earlier or later ?
The basic reason is that the metal housing of the 360 is not straight bended by production. The bended area is exactly there where the GPU sits. That means if you screw in the Mainboard it will exactly bended like the metal case. This mechanical tension to the mainboard will break the soldered grid ball connection earlier or later. The original X-clamp does not produce enough pressure to the heat sink to keep the mainboard straight connected to the GPU. The original X-clamp is made of ordinary steel which doesn`t really help. It lost pressure in a few months. The only steel that delivers enough pressure power is spring steel.
There are still steps to consider before trying this out. So I may have to go on the phone again first and beg for another Unit.
