HALO 3 Sells reached at 8.1 million
Microsoft proudly declared today that the Xbox 360 has “hands-down emerged as the industry leader.” Although December and year-end U.S. totals from The NPD Group are not yet available, Microsoft said that through the holiday season the company has now sold 17.7 million Xbox 360s worldwide. Please note that these figures represent sold into retail. Sell-through data will come from the NPD results.
Furthermore, Halo 3 was clearly a catalyst in driving holiday sales for Microsoft’s console, as Bungie’s epic shooter has now surpassed 8.1 million copies sold around the globe. It was only last month that corporate vp Jeff Bell told us that Halo 3 had sold over five million globally. So in the span of a month, the game pushed another three million units.
Hot damn, it really is nice news as my favorite game Halo is one of the hottest games and with over 5 million copies sold and definitely helped the plague ridden Xbox 360 to boost it sales to. Halo 3 and other games actually revived the Xbox 360, personally those games forced me to buy another Xbox 360 when I said to myself that I would never buy one ever again.
