Asustek or more comfortably known as Asus will help Microsoft and the Xbox 360 by a deal to produce 500,000 units a month.
Asus’s two subsidiaries, namely Pegatron Technology and Unihan Technology will be in charge of that gig and will be produced from their plants in China. Celestica and Flextronics are the current builders of the Xbox 360 machines.
Now You can Read these post regarding the Asus deal :
Asustek subsidiaries reportedly land OEM orders for Xbox 360 consoles
Pegatron Technology and Unihan Technology, two OEM makers spun off from Asustek Computer, have reportedly secured OEM orders for Xbox 360 consoles and will undertake the production at their factories in Suzhou, China, with an initial monthly shipment volume of about 500,000 units, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
Pegatron and Unihan, however, declined to comment on the report.
Wistron originally was the Taiwan-based OEM maker of Xbox 360 consoles, but decided to discontinue the OEM production due to gross margins being too small, the sources pointed out. Despite thin profitability for OEM production of Xbox 360 consoles, Pegatron and Unihan are willing to do so in line with their 2008 revenue goals, the sources indicated. Singapore-based Flextronics International is currently the largest OEM maker globally of Xbox 360 consoles, the sources said.
In addition to the Xbox 360, Pegatron and Unihan are undertaking OEM production of PlayStation 3 consoles for Sony, the sources noted.

During my previous post, I was getting excited on the thought of a Xbox 360 Blu-ray Drive, but it seems those rumors aren’t true.
Well with the death of the HD DVD high definition format, Microsoft would wish to offer a Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360 to help boost sales again. I wanted that to be a reality. Now this news suddenly burst my happy thought bubble as many are waiting for a Blu-ray player.
No Blu-Ray for the Xbox 360! Oh man, that sucks…
The article Xbox 360 owners - No Blu-ray for you! states :
Aaron Greenberg, Xbox 360 Group Product Manager said:
“Xbox is not currently in talks with Sony or the Blu-ray Association to integrate Blu-ray into the Xbox experience.”
So what does this mean for Xbox 360 owners? It means that Microsoft has decided not to pursue a physical player and instead concentrate resources on Xbox Live online service which allow Xbox owners rent movies. Rather than be seen to be abandoning HD DVD and leaping onto the Blu-ray wagon, Microsoft wants to go it alone and break free from physical media. Perhaps Microsoft has lost faith in physical high-definition distribution and feels that a digital distribution method is better (for the company). From an anti-piracy standpoint a digital distribution system at least allows Microsoft to engage in a war with the pirates (as futile as that might be in the long run).
Maybe Microsoft hopes that Xbox Live could be the road to profit for the Xbox console.
Oh well… apparently nothing at all…

There has been rumor circulating around the net that the release date for Fallout 3 is on September 9 as seen in this post on QJ.net
Rumors have been constantly spreading that the release is going to be on September 9, 2008. Of course, this was due to a list of PS3 release dates that has been sent to retailers by Sony.
Hines said that:
Sept. 9 isn’t the release date. The release date is Fall 2008. Until you see something official from us on when the game will be out, take any date you see from anyone with large grains of salt.
As I’ve learned, the release date for Fallout 3 is on Fall 2008, but still no certain date for it, guess we have to sit back and wait. Being one of the most anticipated games on 2008, Fallout 3 has so much weight to put on it’s little shoulders as Bethesda is not gonna ruin this game for us. So they may really be perfecting the game to stay in tuned to its predecessor, I think a little more wait can’t hurt us as long as the game is very, very good.

Sony and Microsoft are discussing possibilities of an Xbox 360 Blu-Ray Drive, cool. I wish it would be a reality, as the Blu-Ray technology is the biggest selling point of the PS3. Now a Blu-Ray Drive on the Xbox 360 would be effing cool!
But as we know that Microsoft has continuously said that there will never be a Blu-ray drive on the Xbox 360. But I think this option is to be considered because of it’s potential.
Sony’s superiority of the PS3 over the Xbox 360 is because of the Blu-Ray drive, because it can play Blu-Ray movies, fit more content on game discs.
Now Financial Times stated :
Sony Electronics US president, Stan Glasgow, claims his company is in talks with Microsoft about the possibility of a Xbox 360 Blu-Ray drive.
Microsoft could provide a Blu-Ray drive in several ways; it could offer a stand-alone unit, like with the HD-DVD drive. It could offer a “Premium” Xbox 360 which would be a level above the “Elite” Xbox 360; or it could include the Blu-Ray drive in the Xbox 360 Elite.

You got Windows Vista… Now you can display your Xbox Gamertag on the Vista Sidebar with this cool sidebar gadget…
This Gamercard Gadget includes the ability to:
- Change which Gamertag is displayed
- Change the size of your Gamercard
- Change how often it gets updates
- Can be fit into the sidebar by reducing size to 70%
- Can have multiple cards on screen at once in multiple sizes
I’ve found 10 different Gamercard gadgets currently available. With the exception of Slain’s Mulitple XBox Live Gamercard Gadget, none of them used the official Gamercard. 6 of them use the MyGamercard.net, which is nice until you try to click on an icon and want it to link back to XBox.com. So I decided it was time to make my first ever gadget.
I figured out how to change the background image allowing some skinning. If people are interested in this or other features, please give me some feedback!
Try it… oh crap i haven’t made a pic of my sidebar to show to you but oh well
Check it out here at WidgetsLab
Now this page goes directly to the Sidebar gadget author so you can download it : Click Here
