The Xbox 360’s new 65nm Chip
News about the new Xbox 360’s Xenos graphics chip that will come this fall. The new version of the chip has already been taped out and will begin production soon. The original Xenos chip, designed by ATI, manufactured using TSMC’s 90nm fab process. The new design will bring the chip down to 65nm. The plus side and benefits to the 360, a lower electricity usage and a drop in its thermal output. Good News finally, as many of us have been complaining about our consoles overheating during our gaming marathons. The New Xbox 360 Elites that came out last April didn’t include the new 65nm chips, because the production will start this month, the new version would be released this fall.
For those who be patient enough to wait for the new 65nm technology that will be incorporated into both the game machine’s CPU (central processing unit) and GPU (the dedicated graphics chip). The new 65nm chips will run a lot more efficient, less power consumption, cooler temp, and a quiet Xbox 360.
