Xbox Live Now has Instant Messaging
Instant messaging is no longer just for computers, cellphones and other networked devices. Now Xbox 360 users can enjoy instant messaging right at the comfort of their own television sets. Xbox Live now supports messaging!
In the next update of the Xbox 360, a feature will be added, wherein owners with access to Windows Live Messenger service will also have access to Xbox LIVE Messenger, as part of an expanded feature set for the Xbox LIVe social network. Currently, there are six million Xbox LIVE members, who send two million text and voice messages a day. They can now use Windows LIVE messenger to chat with up to six people on their contact list at any one time. This can be done while playing games, listening to music or even watching movies.
Access to text chat adds to users’ options in communicating with friends, which includes video and voice chat.
